Equipment

What we suggest you take on a kayaking trip.

SUMMER TIME

You should wear: a bathing suit, a light-coloured t-shirt (short or long sleeves for protection against the sun, and preferably made of lycra), shoes suitable for water such as specialist water shoes for kayaking or rubber shoes, sun hat, sun glasses with safety cord, sailing or mountain-biking gloves (if you need to protect your hands).

Also bring with you a bottle of water, a sea towel and a sun screen.

We will provide you with a dry bag in which you can store your documents, wallet, phone, camera or other personal effects which you do not wish to leave locked in our cabin. You may wish to take with you a dry change of clothes for when we land.

In the unlikely (we hope!) event of wind or rain we will provide you with a long-sleeved waterproof kayaking jacket.

The mask and the snorkel.

WINTER TIME

On the principle that our clothing should reflect the water temperature, during winter or in general when temperatures are still not high, we suggest you wear a selection of these garments:
a waterproof or dry jacket, a sleeveless neoprene suit (or thermal) with a thickness of between 2.5 and 3 millimetres, a waterproof overall, neoprene Bermuda shorts, trousers in wool or fleece or in any case made from a waterproof, breathable fabric, warm lycra shirts, tunics in felt or fleece with zip collars; neoprene bootees, waterproof shoes, a cap or balaclava hat or ear muffs in wool or felt, and neoprene gloves, or gloves suitable for sailing.
